Would this be a result of a lamination error or from intentional damage to to the coin?

interesting...Pretty irregular shapes to be intentional, acid/corroded possible occluded gas/ lamination lets see what the masters say!

Looks like a Zincoln with corrosion that has eaten into the coin. But, I'm not one of the masters.

What year is it? Wait - let me guess ..... '84?

I'll take it out and see if I can get a pic through the scope. Maybe it will show any detail that is present in the affected area.

I don't think it is lamination,looks like acid/corrosion.
