One I can't find.

Obverse: Wyon portrait of Queen Victoria, inscribed VICTORIA on the left, REGINA on the right.

Reverse: W H with an anchor between the letters.

The whole thing appears to have been gold plated.

Any ideas?

Got pics?

Could it be a VR instead of WH? (shapes could be similar if it's worn) There are trade tokens with VR and an anchor between.

With the W H and anchor in between I would be thinking could be a Tavern Token..

They made several gaming tokens with a double eagle, playing cards etc on the reverse..

I would place my nickel bet on a advertising tavern token........

It's definitely a WH, xshift. The only thing worn on it is the shiny finish.

And yes, I wouldn't doubt it's as D says, an advertising token...but whose?

The closest thing I could find to it is this jeton on the Fitzwilliam Museum database. Queen Victoria with correct legend on the obverse, anchor on the reverse, only with "rechenpfennig" around. I suspect your item is also a jeton, or rechenpfennig (gaming counter).

That anchor is much more elaborate than what I've got -- mine is little more than a line drawing, like so:
