The closest relation to this cent with doubling of the 6th column that I can find at coppercoins is the 2004P-1DR-023. The example shown at coppercoins is MDS. My coin has none of the other markers for the MDS example. The Doubling my cent exhibits seems to start in the same place (below Lincolns right hand) but stops before it reaches the bottom of Lincolns feet. In the example on coppercoins for 2004P-1DR-023 the doubling starts in the same location but travels south almost to the columns base.

Let me know if anyone knows if this may be a different die pair then the one I have mentioned.

2004-P-1-DR-023-Eds???

As always...Thank you for all opinions.

cladhunter, not the 023. The doubling occurs at the time the die is squeezed with the working hub. Except for some wear the doubling never gets longer or shorter during the production run. This one may have been a little short to get its own listing from coppercoins. A good rule of thumb is at least as long as shoulder to hand, knee to foot, or longer. Also any extra doubling such as knees or feet along with the bar stands a better chance of getting listed.

Thank you for the info. I will just label it as dbling of the 6th column. I also found what I believe to be a 2005 P-1DR-010. I will post it in a thread when I get a satisfactory pic of the coin.

Thanks as always,

Try tilting it until you are almost looking at the coin nearly horizontal and make sure the doubling is still there. I had an '04 that I thought was similar to the doubled columns, but did not match exactly. I thought maybe it was a new variety until I studied it a little closer and turned it horizontally and realized it was just a well placed gas bubble.

I checked it at various angles Scooby. It is still there...just about impossible to take a pic through the microscope though as the leds cast a horrible glare when not shooting straight on and I can not seem to get a decent enough shot without the leds as the light source.

You might post a picture of it on coppercoins.com, and see if Bob, or one of the others might be able to help. IMHO, the "bar", is just a bit small to qualify for a listing. I have several that are in that category, and they are in flips, waiting their destiny.
