There is a new guy on - he posted a very common copy of the Pillar Dollar. The later dated Pillars were all edged pre-strike so the edging is applied incorrectly on this one. The earlier dates admittedly were edged post strike but after 1760 nearly every expert concurs that pre-strike edging of blanks predominated. The end result was a better more uniform application of the edge and higher better struck dentils. A clear win win. But here you have a cast copy that is post cast edged.
