David provided the first date by date study of
Barber quarters that was accurately undertaken.
His comments are more than not still valid today, although the prices are obviously ancient.
The only bone to pick? I hated the pictures! I can look at low grade coins any day of the week. I wanna see nice gems!

Previously I stated: "The only bone to pick? I hated the pictures! I can look at low grade coins any day of the week. I wanna see nice gems!" Well, he must have heard me! Beautiful coins are pictured. Many new varieties.
But, you still need 1st ed + this one for all varieties, since he references back & forth.

The Authoritative Reference on
Barber quartersBy: Kevin Flynn
First Edition
2005
Original cost: $32.95
149 Pages

Comments:
Once again we manage to waste 44 pages on Kevin's standard intro. Come on Kevin, write something new!
Any logical reader must question the validity of a book using the title "Authoritative".
Despite this obvious vanity, Flynn does an acceptable job of delivering clear micro photographs. His prose could have used better editing, but for the regular coin collector, is not exceptionally distracting.
The major problem that I have with Flynn's works is that he 'rushes to print' whether the reference is complete or not.
[and I say this as a listed contributor to each of his "Barber" references.]
This book, while good could have been much better if Kevin had taken a breath. I (for one) 'discovered' an addition five or six 1916 D RPM's in between the time that I first contributed newly discovered RPM/s and three months later, when the book was already set for print.
Good reference, it could have been very good.
