Thanks all...this one is going in the 7070 as it is much nicer than the one that is there now!

There is something going on with the date.
There are three/four denticles directly below the bust point over to directly under the "1" on the coin in the forum
The comparative example has two/three.

Beautiful coin. All I ever find is newer Canadian coins in Lincoln rolls.

I have seen only a few proof indians (in hand) They had really nice detail, like the one you have. I believe a proof that has seen circulation is call impaired proof. I am no way a expert on these, just going on what I have seen. Take a look at this link and see how the detail has a similar detail as yours. http://www.indiancent.com/2067-1889...4rb-ngc.html

Very nice finding. Congrat. Regarding the question of "proof": If you reword your subject title to include the word " Indian cent" then you will attract some expert CCF members or create another post for IHC and you will have better answer. Regarding the coin: I am totally agreed that it has a very strong strike and worth the extra effort to research.

Wow! very nice find. I don't think it is a proof since it is slightly off-center to the left, compare edges.

Beautiful coin and a rare find. I would say it's a solid AU coin but not a proof, but that's just my opinion and you know what they say about those. LOL.
