Why? I guess it's because I never had a blue coin before. It should be interesting when I get it. Moondoggie (my garage dog) and tequila made me do it, here's the link:

There a possibility that this coin has been artificially toned. Its somewhat hard to tell with the auction pics but I do know some of this sellers "hand picked toned dollars" are AT.

When you get the coin in hand upload some better pics and we will give you our opinion.

I would have to agree, there are just to darn many altered toned coins on ebay......usually having rings of rainbow colors around the rim...imitating the end coin of a roll....and we all keep ALL our morgans in paper rolls.. although I did fin one 1921 prooflike which had turned almost black throughout the coin on both sides....with original steel gray toning in parts..pictures would be nice.....I hope you found a good one....

Heavily toned, it's difficult to say with these pictures if it artifical or not. I hope it looks better in hand. I usually stay away from coins that have this dark brown toning.

I too tend to ebay with perhaps one (or three) more beers. And as always, toning is in the eye(s) of the beholder.

Well, here's some pics of the coin. I just don't know, some features look AT the others look to be NT. In any case, I'm keeping it, it turns out to be VAM-39 and a pretty neat die variety. Anywho, here's pics:

When I was reading the description, it said mint location: Carson City...WHAT? then after that Philly and SF, didn't list N.O.

With the better pictures this turned out to be a nice looking coin, though I think the toning is artifical. From what I can tell from the pictures I would grade it coin at AU-58.
Rest in Peace
