well, although the price does seem high, the hoin is graded by a reputable grader at MS-70. MS-70 is the highest grade a coin can achieve bar none. Plus, it is from the 80's, which makes it even harder to come across nowadays. It may seem high, but there are many people who would be willing to pay it. andrew

I checked on NGC's website and they use numismedia for their pricing and this is what numismedia says the coin is worth. Click on the picture to be able to read the text

Anyone have a book value on that? I look at PCGS which is known to be the very highest and they don't have a price on that one for MS-70. However, their price for the 1986 MS-70 is $4000. And that coin in every other grade is more expensive than the 1987, as 1986 is more difficult to obtain.
I wonder if the Ms-70 universe is that small for that coin or what. But if the 1986 is more expensive in every grade than the 1987 and at over valued PCGS prices the 1986 is $4000, then I think this guy is high :)

The only similar one I can find went for $3250 on ebay, a week ago. I vote he's high. Looking at NGC pops, I kind of wonder why prices are so high - are there enough collectors to keep pops of over 100 into the three-thousand-dollar category? Ugh. Moderns.

according to what SuperDave feedback was, I guess he was highhhh coming up with that price. Also food for thought supply and demand feed the market, usually even people who are greedy in their pricing get their price, because we give it to them.

I would never pay near this price for a bullion coin. As many as were made there could be a couple thousand MS70's not graded yet.

I am not sure what he smoked to tell you if he's high or not but he is a little on the expensive side according to recent sales of the date
