Madhandles, we're a new forum, there are Larger forums that have been there for 6 years or so, weve barely been for 2 years. But were slowly climbing up. The largest one I know of is the PCGS forums, Collectors Universe. But I personally think this is better mainly because I KNOW everyone here, there asren't TOO many people whihc makes us a "family". I know alot of people on this forum and some I know personally.
Thanks TKC!

Kid Collector is wise beyond his years. Our growth is exciting, and possibly helps advertising. I hope so. However, I would be disappointed to see us grow too large. We are a family. I feel I know many of the CC forum members even though I have never met them personally. When the day comes we reach 5,000 or 6,000 members, I only hope we still have the "small community mentality," and that we continue to look on our forum as a family.

Regarding other Coin forums, many of us were members of another forum before moving over to CoinCommunity. Some retain membership in that other forum as well as CoinCommunity. As of today, the forum mentioned has 5,855 members. The forum (which I'm evidentally not allowed to name), I feel, is a good forum, and some of us moved directly there when the Coin World forum closed down. However, Coin Community is my home. It is my family when it comes to coin collecting.

I know I'm new to this forum, but IMO this forum has an advantage over many other coin-related forums. It is such a diverse and widely-accepting forum i.e. not just focused on one aspect of coin collecting, that it is easier for people to make posts. Plus, it has a great community feel:)

When the day comes that we reach 5000 members, it's going to be up to us to keep that "family atmosphere" through our own dedication. Any successful online community has leaders, both official and unofficial, who tend to set the tone of the place. If, together, we will it, we can keep it so.

This forum makes me feel wanted and to tell you the truth I hope that we never get to 2000. Because if we do and all of the members post at once we might have to make private forums for the first 1000 members.
1000 because I came when everyone was talking about a 1000 memebr contest

Wow...those are some nice stats. But this forum really does feel like a family to me, and that should never change, even if we reach 5000 members or so. It's the people here that make me feel welcome, so it really doesn't matter how many people we add, as long as the people who were here stay here.

I have no doubt we can keep the flavor of the place, regardless of how large it grows. I've been a member of one online community for 7 years and over 7000 posts. When I joined, it had less than 1,000 members. Now the forum has 100,000 members and 5 million posts, and retains the same qualities which made it so attractive to me in the first place. It's the membership which keeps it that way, and so can we.
