I buddy of mine showed this too me to see if I wish to buy it. I love the Morgan Clash coins and I am not a collector of Half Dimes.

Two questions (A) I think the thing is neat...but is it of greater value then a normal one? and (B) What type of preium should it be. I have the thing as a low AU and the coin has a doubled (E) clash

Buy it! Sweet to see that much of a clash on a coin that old.

Interesting coin, but I wouldn't expect the heavy clashing would add much value. Maybe some collectors go for die varieties of Seated half dimes, but that collector base is probably small. I have an 1877-CC dime with a similar E clash but it didn't cost any extra.

Gradewise, I'd call your coin EF-45. The surfaces don't look entirely original and I suspect an old cleaning was done. The mark above M on the reverse looks like damage. With your interest in Morgan clashes perhaps this coin has special appeal for you. Personally I'd prefer an "ordinary" EF or AU example with no problems.

Well I Like it and the revese has the hand and knee ...alot of the obverse in it. And if you are right on the EF45 I was thinking AU50 190.00 would be all the money And he wants 275.00
So it's a pass here as I really do not collect them. But it is neat!
Thanks Russ

If he/she wants $50 for it, buy it up...if he/she wants $100 for it, read the above considerations, pros, and cons.

I do not see a premium on the coin. Normal die clash for this series. Apparent cleaned. $50 is a fair price, but everything is subjective. good luck.
