Ugly,

On another discussion board this same issue already resulted in members abandoning the board while another, years ago, was asked to leave.

if you look around at the displays of a Canadian coin show, you will see that the floor is paved with ICCS holders - in other words - a LOT of $ is relying on the opinion of this company.

With that much $ at stake people gets ... lets say ... emotional

To close my participation on this issue I will say: I do not know serious and knowledgeable collector of Canadian coins that have his/her coins on ICCS holders.

CC, if you're talking about the large bust 25c, then yes absolutely you can tell the difference between a PL and a high MS coin, with ease.

The soft mint bloom of the MS coin is quite a contrast to the flat, "cold", "black" surfaces of the coin from a set. I don't believe there is any way to "fake" natural business strike mint luster. Photo credit goes to a member here for the MS-64 on the right.

Kiddo,

I meant business strike, e.g. meant for circulation.

Guys, I'm looking for a 1973 CANADA 25 CENTS LARGE BUST for my collection of mules.
I'm not into a rush so I look around...
You all saw this one MS66 on ebay that stuck there for months and months. (300728240277)
I understand that most of you here are resellers, but to your opinion, is this a good buy?
I'm so so so confused now with the « MS », « MS Unc. Set Issue », « PL », « SP ».
Don't this coin exist only in « PL » grade?

The ebay coin you are looking at is from a PL set and way overpriced. If you're not in a rush keep looking.
This coin exists in business strike (MS),in prooflike sets (PL),and in specimen sets (SP)
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...
