Here's a link to a counterfeit 1868 IHC on e-bay. The seller also has an 1871 which is also counterfeit. The 1868 has the bold N reverse which was not on the 1868 and the last feather on the 1871 is between the c and a. This didn't happen until 1886. http://cgi.ebay.com/1868-INDIAN-HEA...em3cac7396e3

After all that finagling on my part, I can't tell anything from the ebay photo. But I can see the problem with the feather on the 1871. That auction closed over $200.

On the 1867, 1868, 1869 IHC the N on the one is weak at the bottom right, all coins minted in those years have this same anomaly. Most all of these fakes come from Chinese operations.ht tp://coins.about.com/od/worldcoins/ig/Chinese-Counterfeiting-Ring/

In can't believe there wasn't more response to this topic. I read on here of people complaining about cleaned coins being sold as misrepresentations but a legit counterfeit and nothing. Go figure.

If you can find an old post with the link, and get the ebay listing, check "the "other items". There is where all the coins, including this one are listed. A appear to be fakes. there are at least three, the '86, the '71, and the '22-weak "D"

Why do you say the "weak-D" is fake?

Hello Dick how you doing today? The same seller also had a 1909S that the "S" appeared to be added. He got over $500 for that one. Not a bad take over $800 for about 10 cents worth of junk!
