DoubleSergio New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 05/03/2010 12:06 am I've been really impressed by all the posts on this forum so far so I figured I'd put this one on here as well. This coin is the only one of my mom's collection that does not have any paperwork. She said it was a "proof" but I highly doubt that is the case from what I've been learning. Apparently, she thinks this due to the encasement. I figured anyone can put a coin in a case. Right? Gotta love my mom. LOL As with my previous post, any info would be greatly appreciated! Honestly It doesn't look like a proof to me, the field of the coin isn't smooth enough. But I really dont know anything about gold coins. Report this Post to the Staff
BH1964 Bedrock of the Community United States 10982 Posts	Posted 05/03/2010 12:43 am This coin was not minted in proof so we can rule that out. It looks like a very nice coin that should grade MS64 from what I can see. It might go up or down a point, but you'd have to see it in hand. Appears original. 1928 is a type, or common date, coin in this series. The condition does add to the value significantly with MS64 pieces bringing about $2,000.
