Can somebody please help?
Since the false alarm initiated by a Canadian newspaper over the counterfeit 2003 coins because of the crown vs uncrowned versions for that year that were out there, I had to update my collection in order to make certain I had both.
Looks like I'm now good, but I'm having trouble understanding if there is a 2003P uncrowned 50 cent piece out there.
I do have the 2003WP uncrowned, and the 2003P crowned but no 2003P uncrowned.
I can't understand what they are driving at in the 2010 Charlton.

Hi Dollar,
I do not collect 50 cents but as far as I understand,there were uncrowned and crowed 50 cents issued for 2003P.The crowned portrait were minted from 2001 through 2006 part of the 7 coin multi-ply BU sets the 2003P retail price was $15.95.The OH CANADA sets from the same year 2001 through 2006 were also multi-ply and the retail price was $23.95.the first set has a mintage of 94,126,the second 51,146.I apologize in advance if this information is wrong

An interesting question. Change-overs are so much fun. As far as I know, 2003P uncrowned do not exist in rolls or sets. Having said that and considering it's the RCM I'm keeping me eye open! |

50cent P crowned non-circulation
50cent WP uncrowned non-circulation
There is no 50cent P uncrowned or WP crowned.

Same subject, different coin:
---were 1 Dollar coins (Loon Dollars 2003) with the old/crowned effigy made for circulation, or were they in sets only?

2003 Old Effigy in both circulation and mint set strikes.
2003 New Effigy in circulation only.
2003 W New effigy in 2003 W mint sets only.

Question? Where were the 2003 Old Effigy [ no mint marks] PL Sets minted. Also to my unerstandind the 2003W & 2004P sets were made in Winnepeg. |

The 2003 Old Effigy mint set was supposed to have been produced in Ottawa. It has:
2003P 1 cent
2003P 5 cents
2003P 10 cents
2003P 25 cents
2003P 50 cents
2003 no mintmark loon dollar
2003 no mintmark two dollars
