Hello All,

I'm new the forums here, and just getting back into the hobby after being a collector as a kid. I'm looking to get some opinion as to whether this coin is real or not. It looks like it may have been cleaned, but there is a slight bit of fuzziness in the surfaces between some of the text. The coin was purchased on ebay from an American seller.

Thanks for any info you might be able to provide.

I don't have the experience to answer this question. However this is a good website to get some info on Canadian fakes.

Thanks for the help so far. I'll be taking it to a local dealer soon to also have a look at. Any insight on what the grade might be?

Thanks again

HMMMMMMMMMM Does not appear to be a fake, best grade I see would be around EF-40/45, however, coin looks to have been harshly cleaned at one time!

Is there a general amount or percentage decrease in the value of a cleaned coin?

Thanks

about 30-80% depending on how harsh. and this one is pretty harsh, so about 70%
