Same here!

Hoping to see your first finds, Don't worry if its just a bottle cap, I think you shoudl treasure the first find, which will soon lead to humongous pirate gold and Gold Dubloons.

Yes, there is a grade school down the street and I plan on hitting a HUGE park where the fireworks display is being held. Thousands of people drinking beer and dropping money.

Hi Kerry

Dont be surprised if you find a group of older gentlemen there at day break !! They will act like your dating their daughters !!

I know that is the case here, after large events, there are about ten older guys that are in the parks and places before the sun comes up, and they are not exactly friendly nor happy to see another detectorist!!

Good luck !!

Which detector did you get ?

Rick

Metal Detectors are fun, just don't get discouraged on the days you put in 3 or 4 hours and only find a few cents. Just remember the more you go the more good days you will have.

Hi Kerry,
Check around the bases of the larger trees at the school playground. Boys love to bury things like coins, toys, etc. around the bases of trees. But be prepared for the junk too.

Trees at church picnic areas are great too. People who filled a plate with food would go sit under the big tree for shade and while sitting the change in their pockets would fall out.
