A roll of amazing Washington Dollars for an Amazing price of only.........get this.....12 for only 34.95 plus shipping and handling of only 12 dollars. So, you will have an Amazing roll of Washington Dollars for only 46.95. Hummmmmm. That would only be 4 times face.Hmmm.But you must act now because collectors are paying 6 times that. Hmmmmmm.

Lol. I watched about 2 minutes of that this morning before I finally changed the channel.

These coins will never be minted again!
They are rarely found in circulation!
They will come in a special plastic collector's roll.

Any takers?

How many people do you think ordered 10?

You know what they say about a fool and their money.

These people are a cancer on our hobby. People who buy this junk and then find out they have been hosed will often have a bad taste in their mouth for coin collecting and never pursue it further.

Maybe unfortuately and maybe not. Remember that way more people are NOT coin collectors nor informative about the value of coins than actual collectors. Most collectors are informed about such things due to coin web sites, coin books, coin shows, coin stores, etc. Yet these are the minority of individuals and those that purchase such items are the majority. Many individuals have no idea where to find anything in the way of values per item and assume if it's on TV it must me true. Such is the reason places like ebay, coin web sites, TV adds for coins as well as almost anything people buy based on an add.
Anyone buying such items usually just put them somewhere for safety and never find out they paid many times what that item is really worth.

I've seen this "program" !
They even format the show to appear as though it were a "News show" with "reporters" and such......too funny !
And yeah, they sure "paint it up". They even interview a top "Numismatic Author" at the entrance of the "vault".
One of the most worthless coins to be produced in eons....and the "National Enquirer" type coin companies are taking every opportunity possible to make that cash.

Don't get me wrong.......I'm collecting them !......I'll make a Proof Whitman album of them and some folders for kids and such.....but that's quite different than what you'll see from HSN or The Danbury Mint, etc. etc, trying to get folks to pay outrageous prices for what they can get for face value from their banks.....or directly from the Mint.........
On one hand, these infomercials do bring "attention" to our sport, but then, because these sellers are often like the modern day version of the "snake-oil salesmen" from the 1800's, it kind of leaves a black eye once education and knowledge have seeped in, and you realize what you've done. So, it's a "dual-edged sword" IMHO.
