Since the 1st July you can order a set with all 2 Euro commemoratives from Germany 2006 with all mintmarks. It's maybe the same like the 50 State Quarter Program. Every year there is only one two euro commemorative which will represent every German state. This serie will be completed in 16 years :P

Bu-Set
German-2-Euro-Commemorative
Mintage unknown
Price 16 Euro + S/H

Proofset
German-2-Euro-Commemorative
Mintage unknown
Price 29 Euro + S/H

Nice coins Mortyr,

Could you please enlighten me and others who don't understand much German; Which state is this first 2 Euro coin commemorating? (Schleswig-Holstein? am I correct). What is the building depicted on the reverse? A brief geography and history lesson would be very much appreciated :)

There are 16 states in Germany. The first is Schleswig Holstein. The building on this 2 Eurocommemorative is the "Holstentor" in Lübeck. Schleswig Holstein is the state in the north of Germany, there is the border to Danmark.
Lübeck is in the east of SH (Schleswig Holstein) : German-2-Euro-Commemorative In SH are living 2.828.986 people (30th June 2005). For more information you can read this article about this state http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schleswig_Holstein

Well I will have to keep up with that set of $2 commemoratives. Somehow I have managed to get all the German silver euro coins issued since 2002 when the Euro was introduced. Then came the $2 commemorative which seems to be a little tougher from some nations but still quite an interesting opportunity. Thanks for the photos!
