Team, Please forgive my enthusiasm, but this is my first capped bust half dollar with a curl base two in F-10 thru 12ish condition. The reverse kicks the obverse's booty. These are VERY HTF even if it's rated as a relatively common R-2. It has some PVC damage, but not too awfully bad. Here it is, an 1827, O-146. To put it in prespective as to the difficulty of locating one of these check ebay. There are none listed in all the 1827s both active and sold. Take Care B

Hi Bonedigger! I love Bust coins, halves in particular. They are Susan's (our very own Forum Mom)favorite coins. The varieties in Bust halves are seemingly endless. I have owned over 100 of them over the years. Great coin and great fun to hold such a nice peice of history. Did you ever wonder whose hands that coin hsa been in? Mike

Everytime I get one I wonder who's hand it's been in. Their history is what makes them desirable to me. I don't have a hundred but I've now got about sixty :-) Take care B

Hey Bonedigger:
Hope I don't sound nosey, but where did you find the coin? How long have you been searching for it?

No problem. I picked it up on ebay and have been looking (off and on) for about the past six months. B

Congratulations, Ben, on the acquisition of a beautiful coin. Like you, I often contemplate who has held the coin before me. Who knows, perhaps your new 1827 half dollar was with Davey Crockett at the Alamo?
