I am new here, and have been reading some of the posts on the fake Mexican coins that are out there. A friend of mine bought 108 of these at a yard sale, and I purchased them from him. Some of them are fake, the 8 reales, Z 1882 coins, and the 1872 Un Peso that say Copr.

I am assuming all of them are. The others are as follows: Mo. 1951 Cinco Pesos and it says Ley 0.720 on it, 1968 Juegos De La XIX Olimpiada Mexico, 25 Pesos, a 1910 Un Peso, an Ano De Carranza 1859-1959 Cinco Pesos, and a 1947 Cinco Pesos, 30 Gramos, Ley 0.900, Mo.

I would appreciate any additional information on these, and if they are also ones that are commonly copies, and not the real thing.
P.S. They all stick to a magnet. Not good. Thank you for the help.

"They all stick to a magnet. Not good."

I think that just about sums it all up for this batch of coins. Please post pictures of the 8 reales and the 1872 Peso. Many of us want to be aware of the common fakes out there so we can spread the word on what to be wary about. I hope you are not out much $$, 108 is a lot of fake coins ot buy.

I was approached several times by shady people trying to sell them in an album page, 20 or so, starting at $100 for the lot, and going down to $10 or maybe even 5 (never really got them, figure I have enough trash accumulate) most were obvious, but some actually seem to be real silver Morgans in good condition like, oh yea, they usually have some Chinese mixed in them too...
and all produced in G-AU condition...

These "malditos" are coming in droves. They are available in sheets of 20 coins. They are all under obviously weight, magnetic, weakly struck, and some with high rims. If the media makes a big deal with the toxic kids jewelry from China, why don't they make a big story on these Chinese fakes.

I guess it's about time that we share pictures our fake samples to let others know what are the red flags to avoid. And in so doing, these forgers will not be able to sell profitably and might shift from doing their infamous talents of counterfeiting coins. But the thing is are we allowed to do it in this community posting fake coins, Jfransch? if it is so, I am into the expose' 100% with you guys

Sorry it has taken so long to post photos. Here are the front and backs of all of the "coins". Thank you for your help. The guys selling these do flea markets and yard sales. They claimed they were the real thing.
