I recently saw an ad in the local newspaper for 2010 MS70 ASE's graded by ANACS. In the ad the company selling these says that each coin is numbered out of 5,000 and the cost is $79.95. After reading the ad a few times I had a few questions that some of our members can answer. Isn't it possible that any 2010 ASE could grade MS70 when produced from a new die, even the ones that my local coin dealer has for $25.00 each. Also the ad says each coin is individually numbered out of 5,000. Does that mean that there is only 5,000 2010 ASE's total that grade MS70, or that this company selling these has 5,000 coins to sell? Any thoughts?

It means that particular company has 5000 to sell. Your dealer may have some MS 70's in unopened tubes, but once they have been put on display, they are probably MS 69's or less. It takes only the tiniest ding or scratch or touch of a finger to drop it from 70 to 69.
