I have found several of these and gave most away. The ones that I have found do not have the the overlaying edge on the part that is inserted into the other. They just have no rims and fit down into the existing rim on the other half of the coin. Sometimes there is a cut down Mexican coin inside. Other times you can see that it was just milled out. I have never weighted one to see if the weight was correct. They will sound hollow when dropped on a counter top. To separate them, I hold them with two fingers on one edge and rap them sharply on a hard surface with the inserted portion toward the counter top. After three or four raps against just the rim of the coin you should see the inserted portion start to shift outward.
