1942 Walker For Grading - MS? - Coin Community Forum

johnny54321 Rest in Peace United States 4849 Posts	Posted 05/11/2010 11:59 am I think it is likely that this coin has been cleaned. The reason I say that is that there should be a lot of remaining luster in the fields for the details. There is strong luster within the protected areas of the obverse motto, but then it stops abruptly in the fields. This effect from what I've seen is prominent on cleaned AU/BU coins. I'd say AU-55 details, and still a great coin for $7! Report this Post to the Staff

It may have been dipped if there's no evidence of hairlines, this fooled me a long ago before I knew what to look for in dipped coins. Report this Post to the Staff
