Type 1/2 Lettering On Dollars And Clad Direction

The copper core on clad coins is not centered, and it occurred to me that the thicker nickel clad layer can be oriented to either side of the coin...sometimes heads, sometimes tails. Should be a 50/50 distribution.

So for those who like to collect Type 1 and Type 2 lettering on dollars, this opens another can of worms, I mean variation, to collect on *every* US clad series.

Wait a sec...that means there are FOUR possibilities on the golden dollars! The orientation of the clad layers can be seen peeking out under the plating.
