sry ill have sum better picuters up here in a bit. I had to use my cell phone along with 30x leans to take this pic. I had this in my DANSCO ablum as being a 1941 D but the more I look at the top of the last digit it looks more like a 7.

I concur. It dioes look like a 7. A clearer picture would help, when you can, with a full date, please. Dick

I'd lean toward post mint damage. Looks like it got caught in a rolling machine or a vending machine maybe.

with PMD. Perhaps a long time ago in a place far, far away.

Interesting; but I cant tell what year it would have been if it is post-mint damage. altogether, the angle, thickness, height, and distance of the remnants of the last digit is not consistent with 42, 44, 46, or 47 unless the PMD reduced the thickness of the middle of the date, of which I dont see any evidence. Anyone have a guess with an explanation about which date the coin is? christopher: any chance you could take a clear, upright close-up of the entire date and mint mark alone?

It's damage, and any way you shake it, the coin is a three-cent wheat. Find one that isn't damaged to put in your collectiona nd toss this one in the refuse bag.
