The mint will release on the 1st August 2006 the 2007 $1 Kangaroo coins. These coins will be the first of a 3 year series where the kangaroo will be depicted by Australian Famous artists. The first in the series will be representations of the kangaroo by Rolf Harris. 2007 $1 Kangaroo (Famous Artists Series) both Unc and Proof.. Now the question is Is this Kangaroo series going to replace the Specimen Kangaroo series that ran from 1993 to 2006 or is this in addition to the carded series? Will they also be changing the Kookaburra Series? |

The RAM is continuing the series by releasing these items. The unc coin is however CuNi. There will also be a silver unc roo available to dealers in a capsule. This will mean they will possibly be repackaged by some dealers. Wholesale cost is yet to be determined and there is no RRP.
The kooka will not change as it is the recognised silver bullion coin of Australia.

The silver coin will not be a cheap one. Wholesale cost woll be around AU$36.00 with minimum dealer order of 500 coins. This puts it out of my range. I will however be sourcing small quantities from wholesalers when released but given that most will card them themselves I would be suprised if retail price is not somewhere around AU$45 to AU$50.

Well I will just have to live with the price as I want to continue to get them in silver so put me down for two and let me know when they are available so I can get the money on the turtle to you.

Hi Bigfella, I haven't got 50 posts yet, but am I allowed to buy from you? Or do I need to wait until I have 50 posts? Because if I can, I would love to order a 2007 Silver Unc Kangaroo from you as well. If I'm not supposed to be buying yet, sorry!   |

Have seen the 2007 Silver Unc in a card going for AU$48.00. The Cupro-Nickel Frosted Unc is AU$24.95 and the Silver Proof is AU$65.00. They all look a nice coin from the images.

Hey Bigfella have you learned any more on the silver kangaroos? I will have the turtle waiting to pick up my order on the beach as usual!!! Let me know and I will get payment to you a lot faster than that turtle will!!!
