I don't know how I missed this thread. Scooby the sales data for the 33A is the same as the 33 ($100 in MS62, Jan 2010 SSDC price guide). You can usually add at least $25 for a coin slabbed by PCGS, NGC or ANACs.
Quick question ... did the slab ID this as an 1878 7TF or 7/8TF. Normally NGC only slabs the "strong" 7/8TF as such and lists the
VAM 30, 31, 33/33A, etc as 7TF.
And for those looking to snag the elusive VAM44 ... it shares the same reverse as the 33/33A. When looking for tripling of the blossoms and doubling of the leaves on the obverse, it's very hard to do with pictures unless they are large and clear. Look instead at the "ear fill". The 33/33A is short ... the 44/44A is long. See attached pic. Cheers and nice snag at that price!
