Hi folks

I've been selling one or two commemorative 10 shilling Padraig Pearse coins over on ebay.

Thing is, I've noticed the people bidding on them all have bought up a couple of these same coins over their last transactions.

Do they know something that I dont? will the price be appreciating some time soon for some reason? Or do people collect many exmaples of the same coin for some reason?

thanks
Marc

i do not know either what is the reason but the 1966 coin is for the 1916 uprising here in ireland they just celebrate the 90 year anniverssary 10 years more it will be 100 I also purchase one last month try to buy earlier it cost so I just take more time maybe the rise of precious metal is silver included also depends on condition and I'm poor in grading

"Collectors" rarely buy more than one of an item they collect, though there are plenty of exceptions. Sounds like it might be "investors" buying up silver, or "resellers" who've found someplace where people will pay as premium for them. It could even be "speculators", hoping to corner the market by the time the 100th anniversary comes around.

josie is correct.
i myself have one of these padraig pearse 10 shilling coins, mine is the upsidedown writing, I think, I must check it.
there is approz 750,000 of these coins in circulation I think.
i know a place near me where I can buy a proof one of them for Eur35 ($40), but iv seen sale prices for this coin go double that or even more on ebay!!

Yes you are right ban they sale more on ebay on 10 shilling here they hardly sold on carbooth stayed for several weeks or month still there that is for normal one.

on 2006 their ceiling priced both on carbooth and dealer is 20 euro dont know this coming summer.

And sap is right for me due to the priced of silver you are almost buying it to its meatl content. told lads on carbooth that collector in US are still buying and like it they seems suprised.

found out today that a local dealer near me, she is selling the bank of ireland 1966 boxset, contains all the coins incl the 10shilling of course, in original box, perfect condition, coins in proof cond for Eur75! then she is selling another 10 shilling coin on its own, in mint condition in its small bank of irl presentation box (small box) for Eur25!! which is the better deal?

A dealer is selling 55euro proof in orignal blue box,Im not yet in to proof.

The last time I saw a 10s they are selling it 20euro.

At 25 is a good deal to me and try if you can have a discount till 20 euro.
