This was a coin I was watching some time back. What would this grade at? I do not have this original link as I saved the pic as comparison for future auctions. If I remember correctly this one went off around $55. Also does the coin in the pic looked cleaned to anyone? (this why I never bid on the pictured one)

The reason I ask this is because I have one which is better than this (more detail in skirt lines, feathers on the reverse visible, more of the sandal visible etc) which I think should put it in the F+ to VF. VF may be pushing it. I do not have a scanner so no pic of mine.

I know it's a case by case basis but am hoping for some input. Mine has a tad bit more detail than what AFC posted a few days back. Also, If that coin did not have the ding on the rim would AFC's coin grade higher?

Thanks
Peace

It looks to be F15 and yes, I do believe it has been cleaned.

F15, need a little more outline on her left breast to get to VF20.

Thanks for the tutorial folks. Mine has more detail especially on the reverse, except could use MORE outline of the breast.

Just from an education stand point - Is it possible to have one side as VF 20 and the other as F 15? or is just pushing your luck / futile point. Thanks

Peace

A coin can be given a split grade...it would be designated F15/VF20. I think this practice used to be a little more common.

The obverse breast outline is a key component of receiving the VF20 grade, so a nicer reverse shouldn't be able to pull a Walker up to that grading level. However, occasionally you will see a key date Walker that just shows the "keyhole", with a VF20 grade slapped on it.

I agree with the split grade and cleaning.
