It's just fun to ebb and flow on a topic like this until the moment of truth arrives (i.e., I GET THE COIN)

Ain't that the truth?

And the verdict is: EF CLEANED! On the next stagecoach outa town tomorrow for a return and refund. Oh well.... Sometimes chicken, sometimes steak... This time -- potted meat and no crackers!

Nobody slabbed it. He had put a scratched up PCGS slab over the coin to hide the wear areas. When it arrived, it was in a clear holder, no slab. I filed a case with ebay and initially they ruled for the seller. However, I appealed and indicated the 7 day return policy with no stipulations (which they missed the first time) and ebay immediately refunded full price plus shipping to my PayPal account. Today it's going back to him certified mail and I'm sure he'll try to sucker another eBayer into bidding on it. Caveat emptor! By the way, how does one buy/sell/trade here? Paleoguy

We have fairly stringent requirements to sell here, paleoguy - 250 quality posts (that's subjective, and we decide what's "quality") and 90 days' membership. This was increased due to the number of members who register, make 50 quick "nice coin" posts and immediately head to the sales forums. I mean, we've acted on at least 100 such people over the years, and more register every day. So, we made it more difficult. It's our position that buying and selling be a privilege offered the more senior membership, rather than a focus of the Forum.

The requirement to buy is 14 days and 50 quality posts; in my opinion, your contribution to the forum easily meets the criteria.
Rest in Peace

Sucks when you get your hopes up on something and it turns out sour. At least you get your $$$ back! Better luck next time!
