I have 40mm silver coins but cannot find Flips to accomodate 40mm, the largest flip (#1) I can locate accomodates only 38mm

Are there really 40mm flips out there?

I have seen 2 x 2 intercept shield holders and have seen flips for 40 mm coins. They are made to size for $1 Silver Eagle. If you Google 40mm coin flips, you will find several sources. Happy hunting.

Right you are, fmtaxguy. Just bought 6. Whenever I need supplies, it's a no-brainer. Joel's in Grover City, Ca. has practicly everything. I've been using them for years. Very interesting site. 155.340 C-40 Intercept Shield 2x2 holders - pkg of 3 - 40mm -$1 Silver Eagle - 1986-present $3.95

That metric system drives me nuts and I studied it in colledge for many years. Aside from that flips come in many sizes.
At a coin show I go to a dealer that deals most in coin collecting stuff usually has several sizes. The 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 Inch size which I guess is about 38.11mm. Then he carries the 2x2's which is about 50.4mm. His largest size is the 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch size which is about 63.05mm. APPROXIMATELY.
If you order the 2x2's you would be a little over the 40mm size but should work for a 40mm coin. Of course there would be about 10.4mm extra space or 5.2mm on each side of the coin.
This is interesting since I would think in other countries flips would be selling for all mm sizes.

That is my prob, all my albums are for coins mounted in 2x2 flips, so only 2x2s can be used on these albums. All flips available here are the 2x2s. even if I get the 64mm flip it wouldnt fit, hmmm

So that means I might have to buy a special album for my 40mm coins. something unexpected for me

thanks for the info!
