Think it may be PMD. You can see a very faint line that would be the bottom of the S. Can you get a high res close up of that area?

Is it something that should be graded ?

No, coins with missing features from being Struck Through Grease are quite common and not worth a premium unless very dramatic.

I think it's worth hanging on to for two reasons: 1.) It's a copper cent 2.) It looks cool! As far as value goes, there is little to no premium above face value, so it's not worth sending in for grading.

biokemist6----wouldn't this be very dramatic? I believe so...as for value I wouldn't say a whole heck of alot but in anycase this would be one of the coin that I would hold on to untill the time is right to pass it on to the little ones?.. I've got a very nice Cud coin that I'm goin to be passing on to my future kids :)

No, the coin posted is quite minor. A dramatic example of a coin Struck Through Grease would mean a large portion of detail is obscured, similar to the coin in this post.

I suspect you could sell it for a few dollars to someone who collects errors. Sincerely, John Leckrone
