Do you think I could get away with a high AU as opposed to a low AU

There seems to be some obvious wear, so I don't think so. I'd say AU50 to AU 53 but it looks absolutely amazing, congrats!

Would it be worth sending out for grading?

Very nice coin, looks to be O-120 which is rated at R1. I'd grade it at AU-53, might have been dipped at some point. It's worth being slabbed, but If it were mine I add it to my Dansco.

That is an overton die variety, and R1 means the lowest rarity rating. I would also stick it in your type set if you have one!

As we speak, it resides in my 7070 book. It will most likely keep permanent residence there. Where do I find the information about the die types. What is a ballpark value of this coin. I have the June issue of CoinWorld. They have this listed as AU50 at 350.00 and AU58 at 500.00 How close are these prices.
