You have to look at this note closely.

Above the 6 and to the left and down of front plate #G120 - you will see a 6. The 6 you see is actually a security thread shaped like a 6.

Someone saw the 6 and hung on to it as long as they could. First I thought it was some sort of a gimmick but on close inspection this note has above average amount of security threads visible all over the place. On the pic you can see one running through Rubin's sig and is the same color.

What's neat about it is that it matches the FRB # and is perfectly aligned with the other 6's and is in XF+++ condition.

Peace

Could it be a wet ink transfer... just from another wet 6?...

Wd, I do no think it's an ink issue as it would to be blurry and would be further to the left as it would have come from the reverse plate # of another note. My initial thought was that it was an engraving error, but I do not see anything reported in Sullivan's book.

Interestingly the "6" is about the same font size as a web note. Here again the on the webs it would have been further to the right and no such things have been reported.

Security thread is where I am leaning more towards as I have seen them in the shape of "O" quite regularly and this note has quite a few visible. This is more a freak of nature like the folks who see all kinds of shapes and figures in the clouds.

Any who, I have put it away with the "to be graded" pile as its got a cool factor going for it. I am attaching another pic may be you can see it better.

Peace
