It refers to being Silver.

Ag = Atomic abbv. for Silver.

BU/Silver and Silver Proof.

LOL, its all good. If its any consolation I was about to post...

"No Idea, Common sense says BU/About Good... but that cant be right. Maybe Proof in About good? Nah, That coin is way too nice."

Then had the thought process of

"Hmmm well if its proof it has to have an S, oh yep, there it is... hmm I wonder if it's a Silver proof, I don;t have one of those. hmmm. Wait.. Is the other one an S also? Hmm yep... AG... huh... wait. Silver? Yea! gotta be... Thats the only way that makes sense... Now, let me erase what I was gonna put and throw this up as an explanation."

Lol. I think the only reason I remembered this is cause I typed AG for silver about 20 times over the weekend.

Ag is the abbreviation for Argentum (Latin)-(silver)

Warning! Chemistry nerd alert
Elemental symbols should be expressed as either one capitalized letter or a capitalized letter followed by a lower case letter. O= Oxygen, S= Sulfur, Al= Aluminum, Pt= Platinum. Most elemental symbols are easy to decipher since the majority either use the first and second letters of the name or the first and a middle letter. Some of the peskier ones have an elemental symbol derived from the Latin root words, Silver(Ag) is Argentum and Gold(Au) is Aurum.

Exactly. Those coins are mislabeled and that leads to more confusion. Ag is correct for silver and AG is correct for About Good.

Now if we have any farmers in the audience.........
