A coin from my pile of childhood world-coins ....

https://goccf.com/t/65969

This one was easy to ID ...... my Internet research shows this as Y-151 .... a 1970 Russian coin celebrating the 100th anniversary of Lenin's birth.

Russian-1-Rouble-Commemorative-.....

Russian-1-Rouble-Commemorative-.....

My research says this is a copper-nickel-zinc alloy coin with 99,899,000 minted ...... quite common and easily available for a few $$ on e-pray.

Would appreciate any confirmation of what I have tried to establish relative to this coin ..... in particular what is up with the Y-151 designation? Everything else so far has been KM-something?

I'm having a blast with my pile of world coins!

David

For some countries, Krause's editors have been lazy and used the numbering system from the old Yeoman and Craig catalogues instead of inventing their own numbers to do the same job; this gives us KM/C and KM/Y numbers instead of plain old KM numbers.

This rouble was among the first three "commemoratives", they were issued in great numbers and released for circulation. They were as common as almost any other circulating coin.
