1944 Mercury Dime

I recently went through a bunch of rolls of junk silver that I've had for a couple of years. I found this little beauty...

I don't see any rub anywhere, but I'll be the first to admit that I have practically no experience grading Mercury dimes.

What do you think?

AU 50-53. Watch out for carbon spots maybe starting to build on surface of cheek area.

I see three scratches (that arent bag marks) on the obverse.

I see very slight rub on the middle band

I see a very slight rub on the lower upward band.

Given that it's a Merc, I think it qualifies for AU58 or MS60.

And you had in with some junk silver? shame on you. But really, that is a very nice example for a 44. Most Mercs I have seen were a VF at best if they weren't in a proof or mint set. She sure in one pretty lady.

I do feel a little guilty for not checking this roll until now! LOL!

But I did rescue it. Better late than never!

It sure stuck out like a sore thumb in that roll of junk!
