Looks like a great piece of memorabilia! And of course you'll keep it in the encasement, that's what makes it special. I've seen shell cents before, an I've seen stickered dollars, but that is the first shell dollar I've seen.

Typically on shell coins the coin fit down inside the shell and then it was run through a machine that pressed rollers against the edge of the shell crimping it around the edge of the coin and that is what keep the coin from falling out. I'm looking for one (cent)that was sold as a souvenir outside the courthouse at the Hauptmann Lindburgh kidnapping trial.

Yup I am super excited about this one. I had to get off some change for it. I know people that have been involved with this company from the 60's and 70's that never saw one. The only reference I have is an old book that has a picture of one. There have only been 3 on ebay (This being the 2nd time this one has been up) and I had to have it. The other 2 auctions got sniped, but this time I got greedy and spent some $$$. No concerns though, I HAD TO HAVE IT!! Thanks for all the input, I ordered a 40mm ring last night.
