This seller had these nickels listed at $33.50 per roll and couldn't sell them I guess. here they are re-listed for a new lower price of only $23.50 oer roll.

I understand that these are hard to come by, but give me a break. I don't think they are worth more than 11X face, do you? I wonder if the free shipping offer on these is out of guilt. But then again the seller may have paid a a nice premium over face on that box and is trying to eek out a small profit, who knows, but I would not give more than 1.5x face for them myself.

I am a Jefferson nickel collector, and I believe sooner or later the 2009 Jefferson dam will break and there will be "09"'s to be had at face valuable. I've been on the buy high and sell low train before and refuse to hop on board. $28.50 for a roll of $2.00 nickels is a little extreme! If you like to benefit monetarily buy a roll and single them out, but do it quickly before the bubble bursts. The mintage for the 2009 Jefferson nickel is over 86 million nickels that is a lot of nickels! IMHO

I'm glad you posted about this. I have been watching the nickel prices for a long time now. I do want to get a roll but for what price? I think I would go for it if the price dropped to $7.00 shipped.

I don't think I would be willing to pay more than say $4.50-$5.00 shipped.

Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $2 for a roll of brand nickels. The hype will be over before we know it and the nickels and dimes will be plentiful for all.

What is the hype about 2009 nickels and dimes?

I love how people try to beat the "bubble" and people that try to stock up on the next "key" item. 9/10 times noone realizes
something will be scarce or rare untill it's too late to stock up. Or everyone knows and you have a repeat of the 50-D Jefferson.
