It seems that the 60's LMC's were a bit more pronounced when minted compared to the other years and my question is were there different die variations used ? The 1964 on the right is a bit bolder then the one on the left and the return loop of the 6 on the right seems a bit longer then the left ,what your opinion ?
Thanks,
Matt-

noticed the 64 is way more common just in searching and 2.7 Pennsylvania and 3.8 Denver completely makes
sense when you make that observation
I am putting together a roll of each date and mm of the LMC's I would like to know the main varieties
big D small D that kinda stuff
If anyone could help me out with that or find me a good link I would be very grateful
I can't find much good info out there

Gutkowski, the obverse and reverse dies have changed many times throughout the years. Sometimes they change the tie, sometimes they put a mole on his face, sometimes the designer's initials change, etc. I'll give you a link to those in a second.

In the pictures you posted, what you are most likely seeing is different die states. As the die gets used more and more, the features become a little less crisper than when the dies were brand new.

Here's the link (one key note - look for the reverse of 1989 on 1988 cents - they are scarce to rare, with 1988-D being the rarest).

slash, as far as I know there are only a couple/few small/large mintmarks and I think they were on wheat cents, like the '28-S and '41-S.

As far as memorial cents, there are large and small dates in certain years (again, when they changed obverse dies). The most sought after is '70-S small date.

1960 had both small and large date and both are fairly common, 1982 had a small and large date on both copper and zinc cents - all are also fairly common. There is also a '74 small and large date, but they are so common that they hardly recognized by most collectors.

The 1960's (as well as almost all years) had tons of RPM's (repunched mintmarks) that could keep you busy for the rest of your life. If you go to https://www.coppercoins.com, on the left side of the page is a die variety search. Put in the year you are interested in and a plethora of info will appear for you to look for.

This answer is fact, not opinion.

The same master die was used throughout the production of all 1964 cents. There are not two different thocknesses or sizes of dates. They are all the same.
