Hi all, I just got off of the phone with a customer service rep at Whitman Publishing (1-800-546-2995), and she assured me that I would be getting a copy of The Cherrypicker's Guide 4th Ed. Vol. II (that I pre-ordered on 9-7-03) as soon as they are released. They didn't leave me on hold for very long and there was no hassle at all. She took all of my info (name address phone) to verify that it was all still correct.

I would suggest that anyone else who has already pre-ordered this book to do the same. This book has been a long time coming, and I can't wait to finally see it!

You preordered it 3 years ago? Wow, they must've been really behind on getting the book out. Wasn't there some argument between the writers or something like that?

I have you beat. Here is a cut/paste from my order.

Purchased 06/29/03
24.95 + 6 shipping 30.95
PayPal to : JTStanton@aol.com (Stanton books and supplies INC.)

I called them a while back to make sure I was on the list. I was told they should ship in Aug. I had to bite my tongue not to ask the year.
Rest in Peace

Won't it be very outdated? The market has changed so much in the last three years I wonder if the information will still be valid! Just kidding. You are much more patient than I would have been!!!Mike

You got a better price as well. What kind of binding did you choose? That's the only thing that I can think would make a difference in pricing. I paid $35.50 total for the standard coil bound.

Believe it or not he was offering a discount on his website for preorders. Same coiled version as yours. Now that is some slow drying ink. I have e-maimed him a couple times very politely. He was always positive and reassuring but spoke of crippeling pain which barely allowed him to type. I can understand how this could bring about other problems he has had to deal with. I looked at it as an area of the hobby that was not getting enough attention and I wasn't going to force an issue over $30 bucks.

Is the CherryPickers Guide useful to have, is it only for the US coinage, what is it about?

You mean it's finally coming out?!? Unbelievable! I didn't pre-order because the guy at my coin shop said he'd hang onto a copy for me if they ever showed up, wonder if he remembers that!
