hey guys any and all help on this matter would be great
I want to purchase my first albums for my pennies and my Jefferson nickels and possibly even my JFK's
I need to know what to buy
here is a link to the place I was looking at

http://www.danscoalbumstore.com/lin...-p-1997.html

Now do I need to buy the slip cases or slip covers for the album too
I don't know what the albums look like, how to use them or what I need to have the album ready for coins.
I am sorry I sound dumb, but my coins are all in folders for right now and I want a cooler and more professional look. Plus I heard the folders do some funky things to the coins over time.
I finally have enough coins to spend the money on these albums and make them look pretty full, so I am pumped to get them and fill them up.
Thanks guys
wanted to add these guys cause I laugh every time someone posts them on a thread

I just got my first Dansco the other day for my Indian cents. I would buy the slip case with the album and maybe an extra page if you have any varieties besides the main ones that are already listed on the album. Here's a link that you'll find has the albums cheaper. http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/
They can be tricky to get the coins into the album but you'll get the hang of it quickly. I like being able to see both sides of the coin and the professional look of the Dansco albums. They will help to preserve the coins too. I'm sure you'll love the way your collection looks when your done.

I picked up all My Dansco's at either a shop or a show.
Somebody here recomended getting to know the dealers, and getting on good terms with them.
They get collections of coins and make more money parting out the set / collection. Therefore, they have bunches of these books and you can get them cheaper or even for free.
I purchased My first book (7070 type)from a dealer. I paid 30.00 for it and it came with about 30 +- coins already in it.(better than 100.00 in coins)
I picked My next 4 at a show for 10.00 each.
I don't know if they wil,l ever et filled in my life time, but they look nice. I do agree, I like the fact that you can see both sides of the coin.

Before I discovered my local coin shop....I ordered most of my Dansco's from "Wizard Coin Supply" via the internet. Dansco's are NOT cheap comparitively, but they're the best in the market. Kind of like the Cadillac of the industry. But when you add shipping and handling to an internet order, it gets expensive.
I wanted "only the best" housing for "only the best coins I could afford to put in there". For me, "circulated coins" can go into less expensive folders and/or albums. But for a top of the line Dansco, I wanted the best specimens in there that I can get. Of course, some of the keys with various denominations will likely be quite "circulated" for me....but that's fine !
I would suggest that you see if there's a local coin shop for you anywhere close (even a couple hours drive away would be worth it !)
This way you can get these various Dansco's MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper !
Good luck and good hunting ! ....

I would say yes.....especially if you're keeping them at home in a "humidity zone". This would be an extra level of protection for your coins that reduce "air flow". And once you start putting some expensive coins in there, and/or Proofs and Silver Proofs.....you're gonna want the extra "preservation" that the "Slip Covers" can offer.
Even inexpensive Proofs like with some newer Lincolns.....you'll want to protect those from toning and tarnish for as long as you can.

Conratulations on your decision! I have been using Dansco albums for almost 26 years now.

I do not have the slipcases for mine. In my opinion, it depends on where you plan to keep the albums, since they offer additional protection from the environment. Others like the way they look (more complete). I do not have anything against them, it is just that I bought most of my albums before they had the slipcases available.

ok another quick question, and thanks for all the help by the way you guys are great
I don't buy coins (yet) and I don't know if I ever will or want to
all of my coins are pulled from circulation, would the dansco album be kind of a waste of my time seeing how my coins have been floating around from register to register for years and years
I mean would it kind of be a waste of money for me to put my circulated but still in fine shape wheat pennies and other denominations into these albums of do you guys think I'd be better off leaving them in my cheap Whitman folders
And good call mrwisker I think I will check out some coin shops if I can find them around me, or even some pawn shops around the area, who knows maybe I can find a better deal

It depends on how you feel about your coins.

In my opinion, if they mean more to you than what they are worth in the price guides, and you want to display them appropriately, then it is not a waste of money.

For a long time, my Jefferson nickel album was worth more that he coins it held. That never bothered me at all. My coins deserve the best!
