Hi there

My husband has just found a very old french coin whilst digging the garden (we live in France btw) and wonder if anyone can tell us what it is please.

It looks like a collectors coin as opposed to a monetary one as it has no face value. On one side it says "Ministere de l'Agriculture" with a pair of scales. On the other side it says "Republique Francaise" with a head of someone we don't know.

most of the experts won't be able to give you an answer unless you would be able to post pics please... Nice to find it in a garden though...

Yeah, a pic would be great. There are several medals/tokens as you described. I like the idea you found it in a garden.

Thanks everyone for your interest. I will try to get a decent pic of both sides of the coin and will return. Hopefully I will be able to figure out how to upload it - not being terribly computer literate lol.
