I've been seeing a lot more ICG slabbed coins recently. Can anyone provide information on them that is not from their web site? How does their grading stack up against NGC, PCGS and ANACS?

I asked the same question a couple of weeks ago. Here are all the responses I received.

You will get a lot of differing opinions on this.
I think that PCGS, NGC, ANACS and ICG are the top four grading companies. As with all the grading services, grading standards are more tightly controlled on the older higher-value coins.
I would rate ICG generally higher than NGC, and I'd even rate ICG higher than PCGS in some areas like foreign coins, for example.
But prices on ICG coins are often lower than NGC and PCGS - so there are some deals to be made there if you are savvy.

if you are interested in modern coins then I have to stay to stay away from ICG because they are very laxed on their grading of moderns, but if you are interested more on classic coins then their grading can be pretty close and sometimes tighter than the three you mentioned. If you are pretty good at grading you can find some great deals in ICG slabs but you really have to be careful and buy the coin not the slab

They and ANACS could grab some serious market share if they both merged.
