Picked up several Ikes this week. While looking closely at them I noticed something I have not seen before on a 72. From the eyebrows down to the end of the neck there are horizontal lines protruding out from Ike's face. They are hard to see from the pics, but in hand you can tell something is goin on and under magnification, they are very clear. Any ideas? Is this unusual or I have I just not ever seen this on a coin before?

Bought another 71D Ike Talon Head at a coin club meeting last night. It has similar lines as the one above-maybe not as uncommon as I thought; however, what causes such? Thanks

Perhaps a late die state?
