I personally like it, but do you like the eye appeal of this NGC MS66 Franklin half? The coin is not mine by the way.

You asked .... so expect some honest opinions.

No ... I do not like that look .. .. and personally will never seek a coin that has that much toning.

My goal is to collect coins that resemble what they looked like when they left the mint ... age and wear considered .... and to me this overt toning is a visual distraction .... tends to hide problems with the coin ..... and bottom-line is not consistent with my goals.

Too each their own I say ..... that is what makes this great hobby of ours so special .....

Auggh! No - and I have a Franklin that spent 20 or more years hidden in a picture frame that picked up toning like that. Too speckly for my tastes.

I do like toned coins but I don't really care for this example. I like the colors but I don't like the patchy look to it. I wish the toning was more even.

I find this toning pattern to be distractive. I agree with arthrene and prefer a more even toned look. Maybe in hand the luster makes the coin look better, but at the end of the day, if you like the look then go for it.

I would like to see it in hand, sometimes pictures do not do this type of tone justice.

I do like toned coins, but I don't like a mottled or splotchy appearance. If the toning was even, it would be very attractive. Just my opinion...

Too distracting!
I prefer even light rosettes champagne toning.
