this thing is beautiful. I scored it for $300. the ladies Dad needed some cash so I didn't hesitate.
I'll get pics up tomorrow some time.
am I correct in thinking this has a gold weight of: .24187 ?
where's the mint mark located on this coin? I don't see 1 so I'm thinking it was minted in Philadelphia.

yes that is correct on the weight. the mintmark would be on the reverse on the left hand side down by the bottom of the coin beside the "arrow?" oh yeah

The $5 Indian is a stunning looking coin. If you can't afford the whole series, get a type piece or two.

I guess it's a Philly coin then. I don't see any mint mark next to the arrow. looks like it's worth right around $305 at spot. I could probably get $330 or so for it, if not more..it's in real nice shape. pics sometime today since it's 1:10am on the east coast. =P

As long as the coin is genuine, you can't go wrong with a buy like that. However, this series is highly counterfeited so it's worthwhile to confirm authenticity.
