I am in Alaska. We've gone to the three shops in Anchorage to have the 1966 SB dollar sent for grading and they "don't do that anymore." So what is our next best avenue?
Again, thanks for all your help.

Grading a single coin is quite expensive ($15). If you have 10 or more, it goes down to $10 and continues to go down to the $6 for 100+ coins. Factor in $12 for them to return it to you plus your cost to ship it to them, you have to seriously consider if it is worth it.

That being said, ICCS and CCCS are the only two Canadian Grading Services I would use. ICCS only uses a phone number for contacting where CCCS has a web site to answer all questions.

are you sure you do have a 1966 SB dollar?
otherwise your "graded" 66 will have to be an extreme high grade to pay for itself.
perhaps you could post pictures first.
Am always looking for 66 SB dollars

If I were in your position, I'd opt for the cheapest PCGS level and submit it myself.
Alternately, post it up for sale here. I believe you posted pictures of it before and we
confirmed that it was a SB.

Yes to all the above. I'm not concerned with the price of grading. But in order to submit a coin to PCGS I have to either be a member or submit through a dealer. I'm not a collector and just managed to stumble on this coin through shear dumb luck. I have an offer or two on it ungraded, but would like to have it graded more for curiosity sake than anything else.
From PCGS:
# Print out one submission form per type of service
# There are unique submission numbers for each.
# Don't forget to photocopy this submission form for your records!
# Need help finding a coin number? Click here.
# Only PCGS Authorized Dealers and PCGS Collectors Club members may use this service. Click here to join the Collectors Club!

Send it to me and if it is a small bead you will probably never see it again, but you can feel good about the fact it would have a good home.

Anyone can use the PCGS. Its going to cost a lot for one coin. Membership costs $49. They send you a kit to send in the coin. It will cost about $17 to send it and another $17 to return it. There is a fee for the submission. $18 if you put the coin's value below $300 plus $8 for Handling. It will cost you $109 total to get it slabbed and graded. Hopefully the coin was never cleaned or has not subtle tool marks, because then they slab it with "Genuine".

ICCS and CCCS will do the job for much less. Or next time you in Vancouver you will be able to find someone more knowledgable about Canadian Coins and maybe a coin store that will help you out for $25 or so. Plus there are some great restaurants there.

The guys here on CC are amazing. Post a picture. I can't tell you how helpful they have been and how much I have learned from these masters.
