Picked up 2 boxes of coins today from my bank to search. Did not pay attention to the boxes until I got home. First is a box of pennies. When I went to open it I noticed it was a sealed RCM box. Broke the seal and looked at 50 Mint rolls of 2010 pennies. Not exactly what I expected. I was looking forward to searching rolls. Now I need to decide if I will open them looking for errors or return for another box. Going to check with a magnet first. :-)

Second box is a box of nickels. The rolls were all Distribution Center rolls. Oldest nickel was a 2000...with only 6 from that date. The majority were from 2007 - 2009. Looks like the recycling of pre 2000 nickels is well underway. I will have to start requesting customer rolled coins for nickels it seems.

Time to get out the loupe and start checking.

Let yo know if I find anything worth mentioning.

Id open up the 2010 one cents and start taking a magnet to them.
No-one has reported finding a magnetic one yet in circulation.

I have a powerful...small magnet I use for checking mint rolls without opening them. I checked all 50 rolls with no luck. Now I just need to decide if I want to open the rolls and check each coin or take back for a box-o-circulated coinage. :-)

decisions...decisions...

Are you going to Torex tomorrow? I'd be happy to take two unopened rolls off of your hands :)

Wish I could attend...Stuck at home in Sault Ste Marie. Going to spend the better part of the day at Speedy getting my vehicle repaired. Just how I love to spend my Sat. mornings. :-)

If you would like...I can check how much it would be to mail you however many rolls you would like. Last box I had of 2010's...Sherwood Park Pennies of CCRS had purchased a few rolls off me. I received payment through PayPal and I shipped them out to him regular parcel. With everything said and done I believe SPP payed aprox. $0.50 premium per roll + shipping. If you would like to do something similar...let me know. Send me your shipping address and how many rolls you would like. I will check on shipping costs for you. I believe Roger (SPP) will vouch for me.

Let me know if you would like any.

Picked up another box of circulated...customer rolled cents today. Also picked up their last 40 rolls of nickels. Hope for some better search results this time. Only a few keepers in the last box of nickels. Nothing older then a 2000. I believe I had 6 that I held on to. Nothing special...just a few die chips.

On to the next box. Have a great day.

Sorted the 40 rolls of nickels out by decade. Good assortment of 60's - 2000's. A few 40's and 50's as well along with a handful of US. Best find is a first for me. A 1964 XWL. Not in the best of condition. I'll take it though and work on upgrading later. I'll post pics after. Still have the 70's - 2000's to look through.

For 5 cents it is a nice place holder! :) It may be scratched and worn, but the XWL stands out nicely! Nice find.

Thank you.

I'll take 100 more like it for .05 each. Now for the dauntless task of searching the rest of the nickels for errors.

Congrats on the find! I used to search nickel rolls when I lived in Canada and never managed to find one of those.
