I just found a dollar bill that on the front side has a backward image of the front side on it.

Now I would say it is because a sheet of bills with wet ink was placed on top of it and transfered the image (backwards naturally).

OK, having said that why would it be the same side image? I mean if sheets are being printed two fronts of a sheet never touch. I just went online and watched a very informative show on how money is made (Modern Marvels). No where did a front ever touch a front on two different sheets of bills.

So I'm just trying to figure out how it could be like this, and more importantly... if it has any extra value ofc :)

I will take a picture of it when I get home (I'm at work now).

Any thoughts?

Yes, but aren't they always front to back or back to front? I'm thinking this is a lot more rare.

OK, as promised I am putting up a picture of it. After getting to see it in more detail at home I have solved SOME of the mystery.

The ink impressions were made because the bill was folded onto itself, How do I know that you ask? Simple see the section that looks like it is missing by the right side of Washington's head? The reason why it looks that way is because it is stuck on the left side of his head.

The two halves of the bill were stuck together and somebody pealed them apart. So that explains why the ink transfer is front to front, not like every other ink transfer.

Now I just have to wonder what caused this to happen. Was it done when the ink was wet or did someone spill something onto it causing it to look like an ink transfer? The lower left of the bill has pretty much everything from the right side (although faint).

Right click and view image to see it extra large. Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

What you have there Nickelman, is a note that has been wetted with solvent, folded in half, (or visa versa), then unfolded. (This happened outside of the BEP).

I came to that same conclusion as well :(

Sucks, I thought I had something there for a while. Perhaps I could still sell it to that looking4treasure person on ebay :P

I rather doubt it. Yours is not dramatic enough, nor does it appear to be intentional.
